Dosing With Zyrtec Eye Drops: An Introduction
As is standard with most allergy eye drops, there is only one recommended dose of Zyrtec®
Itchy Eye Drops (ketotifen
ophthalmic solution), regardless of the severity of your allergy symptoms
, your age, or your weight. As is always the case, do not adjust this amount unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.
Zyrtec Eye Drops Dosage for Eye Allergies
When treating eye allergy symptoms, the standard dosage of Zyrtec Eye Drops
is one drop in each affected eye twice daily (every 8 to 12 hours, but no more than twice a day). This medication is approved for individuals as young as three years of age.
If you wear contact lenses, you must remove them to use the drops. In order to prevent the lens from absorbing the preservatives in the medication, be sure to wait at least 10 minutes after using the drops before reinserting the lens. Do not wear your contact lenses if your eye is still red.
