Who Should Not Take Zyrtec-D?

You should not take Zyrtec-D if you:

Are allergic to Zyrtec-D, cetirizine, pseudoephedrine, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
Are allergic to hydroxyzine (Atarax^®, Vistaril^®), a medication that is similar to cetirizine.
Have narrow-angle glaucoma (an eye condition).
Have difficulty passing urine.
Have severe heart disease or very high blood pressure.
Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past two weeks. MAOIs include:
- Isocarboxazid (Marplan^®)
- Phenelzine (Nardil^®)
- Rasagiline (Azilect^®)
- Selegiline (Eldepryl^®, Emsam^®, Zelapar^®)
- Tranylcypromine (Parnate^®).

Zyrtec-D Warnings and Precautions: Final Thoughts
