Xyzal® (levocetirizine dihydrochloride) is often prescribed to treat allergy symptoms and chronic hives due to unknown causes. It works by blocking the effects of histamine in the body, which can alleviate symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and nasal itching. Xyzal comes in tablet or liquid form and is usually taken once a day in the evening. Common side effects include drowsiness, fatigue, and a dry mouth.
