Veramyst Nasal Spray

Veramyst (fluticasone furoate nasal spray) is a medication used to treat sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, and nasal itching. This prescription medication is approved to treat these symptoms that are caused by either seasonal allergies or allergies that occur all year long (known as perennial allergies).
As a type of steroid, Veramyst can have many different effects in the body, such as decreasing inflammation by limiting the body's ability to produce an immune system reaction. Steroids can be very effective for treating conditions such as allergies. However, long-term use of steroids can cause bothersome and sometimes serious side effects, and this limits the usefulness of many steroids. Because Veramyst is a nasal spray, its effects are generally limited to the nose (which helps prevent many of the long-term side effects of steroids). Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and may include headaches, throat pain, and nosebleeds.
Veramyst is typically taken once a day. It only comes in one strength -- Veramyst nasal spray, containing 120 sprays in each bottle, with 27.5 mcg of Veramyst in each spray.
