Singulair and Breastfeeding

No studies have been done on Singulair and breastfeeding, so it's unclear if the drug can be passed to the nursing infant. However, because potentially serious side effects are possible, the manufacturer recommends that it be used with caution in breastfeeding women. It is not known if Singulair® (montelukast sodium) passes through breast milk. However, because of the potentially serious side effects that could occur in the nursing infant, the manufacturer of the drug recommends that it be used with caution in breastfeeding women.
