Singulair® (montelukast sodium) is a medication approved to treat asthma and nasal allergy symptoms in both adults and children. It comes in the form of tablets, chewable tablets, and granules, and is available by prescription only. By blocking certain chemicals in the body, Singulair can help minimize asthma attacks, reduce asthma symptoms, and improve common allergy symptoms. Before your healthcare provider prescribes the drug, make sure he or she is aware if you are pregnant, have liver disease, or have any other allergies.
