Quercetin is a flavonoid found in a variety of different plants and is claimed to provide a variety of health benefits. It can be obtained through eating certain fruits and vegetables but is also available in dietary supplements. Some people claim that gout can be treated with quercetin. There is little high-quality evidence to show that quercetin really works for many claimed uses. As is often the case with dietary supplements, some of the more outlandish claims about the health benefits of quercetin should be viewed with skepticism (or at the very least, with caution) until more research is available.
