Patanase Drug Interactions

If you take any medications that cause drowsiness together with Patanase, drug interactions may occur. These interactions could increase the risk of drowsiness and may decrease your alertness. Until more information is available about the potential effects of Patanase interactions, you should use caution when using the nasal spray in combination with barbiturates, narcotics or opiates, other antihistamines, alcohol, or benzodiazepines.

 

An Overview of Patanase Drug Interactions

Patanase® (olopatadine nasal spray) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Patanase interactions include:
 
  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Barbiturates, such as:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, including:

 

 

  • Narcotics or opiates, such as morphine (MSIR®, MS Contin®), oxycodone (OxyIR®, OxyContin®), or hydrocodone (Lortab®, Vicodin®)
  • Other antihistamines.
