Optivar® (
azelastine ophthalmic solution) is a prescription eye drop approved for eye
allergy treatment. Significant drug interactions with Optivar are not expected. Very little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream and the rest of the body. As a result, Optivar is unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect Optivar.
It is possible that there are currently unknown Optivar drug interactions that may be discovered at a later date. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include Optivar in your list of medications when checking for any interactions. Also, be sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to your particular situation.
