Omnaris™ (ciclesonide) is a steroid nasal spray used to treat nasal allergies. It can potentially interact with at least one other medication.

 

In one study, combining ketoconazole (Nizoral^®) with orally inhaled ciclesonide greatly increased the level of ciclesonide in the blood. It is assumed that Omnaris will interact with ketoconazole in a similar manner (even though it is taken as a nasal spray, not by oral inhalation). Therefore, Omnaris should not be combined with ketoconazole (particularly, ketoconazole that is taken by mouth).

 

Omnaris has been studied with a few other medications, and it did not seem to interact with any of them. However, there may be drug interactions with Omnaris that are currently unknown. Therefore, be sure to check with your healthcare provider before taking Omnaris with other medications, since new Omnaris drug interaction information may become available at any time.
