Nasonex Spray

Nasonex® (
mometasone nasal spray) is a prescription drug licensed for treating nasal polyps and common nasal allergy symptoms. It comes in nasal spray form and is typically used once or twice a day, depending on the condition being treated. Nasonex spray can be used for seasonal allergies, as well as year-round allergies.

The medication is a corticosteroid that decreases inflammation by limiting the body's ability to produce an immune system reaction. By reducing inflammation, Nasonex spray can help relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and nasal itching. It can also decrease the severity of nasal polyps.

While most people tolerate Nasonex spray well, side effects are possible. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with this steroid medication include sore throat, coughing, viral infections, and nosebleeds.
