Nasonex for Kids

Nasonex^® (mometasone nasal spray) is a medication often prescribed to treat both seasonal and year-round nasal allergy symptoms. It is also licensed to prevent seasonal allergies, when started two to four weeks before the anticipated allergy season.

Adults with nasal polyps may also benefit from Nasonex. For kids, a different medication should be considered, as this nasal spray is not approved for use in children.

Healthcare providers may prescribe Nasonex for kids with seasonal or perennial nasal allergies who are as young as two years old. The drug can also be used to prevent seasonal allergies in children age 12 and over.
