Generic Nasalide is sold under the names "flunisolide nasal solution" and "flunisolide nasal spray." It is approved to treat symptoms of nasal allergies in both adults and children as young as six years old. Several drug companies produce it, including Bausch and Lomb Pharmaceuticals and Rising Pharmaceuticals. Since brand-name Nasalide is no longer being produced, generic Nasalide is the only product available.

Nasalide^® (flunisolide nasal solution) is a prescription medication approved for the treatment of nasal allergies (known medically as allergic rhinitis). It belongs to a group of medications known as nasal corticosteroids (or simply "nasal steroids" for short). It can be used in adults and children as young as six years old.

Brand-name Nasalide is no longer being made. Fortunately, there are still a few generic versions of Nasalide available.

Why Isn't Brand-Name Nasalide Available?

Ivax Pharmaceuticals bought the rights to make both Nasalide and

Nasarel™ nasal sprays some time ago. These are similar medications that both contain flunisolide. Their strengths are slightly different, and they seem to be equally effective, but have slightly different side effects (due to differences in inactive ingredients). Ivax has decided to stop making generic Nasalide, focusing on Nasarel instead.
