Comparing Other Conditions to Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

Besides multiple chemical sensitivity, there are some other conditions (of discomfort, pain, or dysfunction) that might have a genetic component but also seem to have an environmental stimulus, including:
 
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Atypical connective tissue disease after silicone breast implants
  • Chronic hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
  • Drug-induced autoantibodies/hepatitis (liver toxicity)
  • Illness while living near a toxic waste dump site
  • Dental amalgam disease
  • MTBE (methyl-tert-butyl ether, a gasoline additive)-associated symptoms.
