Lastacaft Dosage

The standard dosage of Lastacaft is the same for everyone -- one drop in each eye once daily. This dosage is the same for adults or children (as young as two years old), regardless of the severity of their eye allergies. To avoid contaminating the eye drops, do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, including the surface of the eye.

An Introduction to Dosing With Lastacaft

There is only one standard recommended dose of Lastacaft™ (alcaftadine), regardless of your weight, age, or the severity of your allergies. As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

Lastacaft Dosage for Eye Allergies

The recommended Lastacaft dose for treating eye allergy symptoms in adults and children age two and older is one drop in each eye once daily. It does not matter which time of day you use this medication, but you should try to consistently use Lastacaft at the same time each day.

General Information on Using Lastacaft

Some considerations to keep in mind during treatment with Lastacaft include the following:
  • In order to prevent contamination of the drops, do not touch the tip of the dropper to any surface, including the surface of the eye.
  • If you wear soft contact lenses, you must remove them to use the drops. In order to prevent the lens from absorbing the medication, make sure to wait at least 10 minutes after using the drops before reinserting the lens. Do not wear your contact lenses if your eye is still red.
  • For Lastacaft to work properly, it must be used as directed.
  • If you are unsure about anything related to your dosage or Lastacaft dosing in general, please talk with your healthcare provider, nurse, or pharmacist.
