In adults, common side effects of Claritin
® include
headaches, dizziness, and dry mouth. In children, side effects include hyperactivity and stomach pain. Side effects are typically minor and easily treated. However, some Claritin side effects can be serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider right away, such as breathing problems or signs of an allergic reaction.
This drug is not right for everyone. For example, people with
allergies to certain medications may have problems with Claritin. Also, people with liver disease may not be able to take Claritin. To ensure a safe treatment course and to avoid possible side effects, tell your healthcare provider about all medications you take, all medical conditions you have, and any allergies.
