Claritin-D® (loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate) is an over-the-counter medicine often used for treating nasal allergy symptoms. By blocking the effects of histamine and constricting the blood vessels in the nose, the medication can help relieve nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, and other symptoms. Claritin-D comes in tablet form and is available in 12-hour and 24-hour strengths. While most people tolerate the drug well, potential side effects include nervousness, insomnia, dry mouth, and drowsiness.
