Astepro Drug Interactions

If you take Astepro with cimetidine or medications that cause drowsiness, drug interactions could occur. Astepro is an antihistamine that can cause drowsiness; taking it with other drugs that may also cause drowsiness could further decrease mental alertness. With cimetidine, drug interactions with Astepro may increase your risk of developing side effects.

Medications That Cause Drowsiness
Combining Astepro with other medications that can cause drowsiness may lead to additive effects, perhaps decreasing mental alertness and interfering with your ability to operate a vehicle or heavy machinery.
 
Cimetidine (Tagamet)
Cimetidine can increase the level of Astepro in your blood, increasing your risk of Astepro side effects. Your healthcare provider may recommend that you use one of the many cimetidine alternatives that do not interact with Astepro.
