Off-Label Uses for Alrex
On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Alrex for something other than eye allergies (this would be known as an "off-label" use). At this time, however, there are no universally accepted off-label uses for Alrex. Although steroids can be used to treat a number of other eye conditions, the active ingredient in Alrex (loteprednol) is available in a higher strength (Lotemax®) that is approved for various other uses.
