Claritin Eye Information
An antihistamine eye drop, Claritin® Eye (ketotifen ophthalmic solution) is used to treat eye itchiness due to pollen, grass, or other allergies. The eye drop works by blocking a certain type of histamine receptor in the body. It is used in each affected eye twice a day, with 8 to 12 hours between doses. The medicine is available without a prescription.
It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the safety information for Claritin Eye before using beginning treatment. Possible side effects include runny nose, headaches, and eye redness; however, most people tolerate it quite well.
