Were you looking for information on Allergies? Alergy is a common misspelling of allergies.
An estimated 50 million Americans suffer from allergies, which are the immune system's response to something that is normally harmless, such as pollen or dust. Common symptoms include coughing, sneezing, and itchy nose and throat.
Seasonal allergies, such as hay fever, occur at specific times of the year. Other allergies can occur year-round; these reactions, known as perennial allergies, are the more difficult to treat. With either type, the reactions are often treated with medication and by minimizing contact with allergens. In some cases, shots may also be used.
