Allegra Dosage

Allegra comes in many forms and is taken by mouth, typically once or twice daily. Your dose of Allegra will be based on factors such as your age and the presence of other medical conditions. For example, children age 6 to 11 are recommended to start with a dosage of 30 mg twice a day.

Allegra Dosage: An Introduction

The recommended dosage of Allegra® (fexofenadine hydrochloride) will vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • Your age
  • The severity of your symptoms
  • Other medical conditions you have
  • Other medications you are currently taking.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

For adults and children 12 years old and over with seasonal
allergies, the recommended dosing is Allegra 12 Hour (60 mg) twice a day or Allegra 24 Hour (180 mg) once a day.

If you have kidney disease or are over age 65, check with your healthcare provider, since you may need a lower dosage of Allegra.
