Allegra-D Allergies Medicine

Allegra-D® (fexofenadine and pseudoephedrine) is an allergy medication that is available by prescription only. It is often used to relieve symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and itchy or watery eyes.

The drug comes in tablet form and is available in a 12-hour and a 24-hour formula. It is typically taken once or twice a day, depending on the particular product.

Allegra-D allergy medicine contains an antihistamine and a decongestant. The antihistamine component works by blocking the effects of histamine, which is responsible for many allergy symptoms. The decongestant works by decreasing the swelling in the nasal passages, which improves nasal congestion.

Before your healthcare provider prescribes you Allegra-D, make sure he or she is aware if you have liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), or coronary heart disease.
