Alaway Drug Interactions

Alaway® (ketotifen ophthalmic solution) is a non-prescription medication approved for treating itchy eyes caused by eye allergies due to ragweed, animal hair, and animal dander.

Significant drug interactions with Alaway are not expected. Alaway is an eye drop, and little of the medication actually reaches the bloodstream (and, therefore, the rest of the body). Therefore, Alaway is unlikely to affect other medications, and other medications are unlikely to affect Alaway.

It is possible that there may be drug interactions that are currently unknown but that may be discovered someday in the future. Therefore, it is always a good idea to include Alaway in your list of medications when checking for any interactions. Also, be sure to check with your healthcare provider about any possible interactions that may apply to your particular situation.
