Who Should Not Take Actifed?

According to the manufacturer, you should not take Actifed if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Actifed, phenylephrine hydrochloride, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within the past 14 days (see Actifed Drug Interactions for a list of MAOIs).
